A sun-soaked wedding at Abbey Farm in Lincolnshire, with an outdoor ceremony, a brilliant party, and a few curious cows. Sarah and Matt’s day was full of love, laughter, and laid-back Aussie charm.

Abbey Farm Wedding As A Perfect Venue
Abbey Farm Weddings in Lincolnshire is one of those venues that just makes sense. Converted barn? Check. Old abbey ruins in the next field? Dreamy. Long grass, a vibey bar area, fire pits, and yes — a field full of cows who will photobomb your portraits? Absolutely. I shoot here a lot, and every time feels different, but Sarah & Matt’s wedding really took things up a level.
Matt’s Australian, Sarah’s from Lincolnshire, and so many guests flew over from the other side of the world to be here — and the weather clearly got the memo. It was full-on sunshine from start to finish. Scorching, golden light all day long. It felt like a summer wedding on a vineyard somewhere in South Australia, not the Lincolnshire countryside.
Grace Loves Lace & A Ceremony First
Sarah wore Grace Loves Lace — and I honestly can’t imagine her in anything else. Floaty, delicate lace, and that signature effortless Aussie style that moved beautifully in the breeze. She looked unbelievable. And the biggest twist? They got married outside.
This was actually the first outdoor ceremony I’ve ever photographed at Abbey Farm, and it was stunning. Rows of wooden chairs under the open sky, guests fanning themselves in the heat, and Matt absolutely beaming as Sarah walked towards him. It just felt right — relaxed, romantic, and ridiculously gorgeous.

Fields, Ruins & Golden Hour Goodness
One of the best things about Abbey Farm is how many spots you can shoot in. After the ceremony, we took some time to wander through the long grasses (with cows watching us from a polite distance), and then over to the ruined abbey in the neighbouring field. It’s the kind of backdrop you almost can’t believe is real — crumbling stone, open fields, and that early evening light that just wraps everything in gold. Sarah and Matt were total naturals in front of the camera, giggling between shots and soaking up every second. You could feel how much they just loved being together.
A Dance Floor That Definitely Needed Reinforcing
And then the party. Oh my word, the party. This one was next level. Australians don’t do quiet weddings, and their guests came ready to prove it. The barn was absolutely bouncing — I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dance floor that busy, that early. There were singalongs, impromptu limbo games, drinks flying, and the kind of joy that makes you want to stay long after your official coverage ends (which I actually did, because I couldn’t pull myself away). Add in the fire pits, the open-air bar, and the kind of sticky summer evening that keeps everyone dancing well into the night? Wedding perfection.
